Hungarian Nationals Welcomes World Record Holder Kristof Milak Back to Competition

The 2024 Hungarian National Championships will mark the return of world record holder Kristof Milak to competition. The 24-year-old is set to compete in six events, including the 50m, 100m, and 200m freestyle events as well as the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly. Despite being out of the pool since last year’s Hungarian Championships, Milak already holds Olympic Qualification Times in the 100m (50.80) and 200m fly (1:52.58) from that competition. He resumed training in mid-January and aims to be in his best form for the Paris Olympic Games.

Other athletes to watch at the Hungarian national championships include Zalan Sarkany, who set a PAC-12 conference record with a time of 14:23.01 in the men’s 1650y freestyle at the championships. Nikolett Padar, Gabor Zombori, and Boglarka Kapas are also set to compete in multiple events.

Key entries for men include David Betlehem in the IM and freestyle events, Balazs Hollo in the IM and fly events, and Kristof Milak in multiple freestyle and butterfly events. For women, key entries include Katalin Burian in backstroke events, Boglarka Kapas in IM and fly events, and Nikolett Padar in multiple freestyle and breaststroke events.
