In high school tennis, the Hollidaysburg Area High School boys team continued their unbeaten streak with a narrow victory over Altoona. The Golden Tigers emerged victorious 3-2, with Altoona recording a singles win from Luke Mitchell and a doubles win from Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer. Meanwhile, Central defeated Penns Valley in high school baseball with a final score of 19-9 in six innings. Mason Byler earned the win in relief and struck out four, while Jay Hoenstine had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Dragon offense. Troy McNichol also contributed three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger added three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko chipped in with two hits and three RBIs. Despite Penns Valley scoring nine runs on seven hits, Central’s strong offensive performances from multiple players propelled them to a 2-0 record, while Penns Valley fell to 1-3.
