Local Officials Find Joy and Positivity in Business Openings

On March 28, the Medical Center of Santa Monica on 2021 Santa Monica Blvd welcomed a new Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location in partnership with Providence Saint John’s Health Center. The Chamber of Commerce organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new business, along with local officials and representatives from the national coffee chain.

Two days earlier, Richard Cao and Hansel Cisneros were celebrated for opening Bandit E-Bikes, a bicycle service and repair shop with an extensive selection of e-bike inventory. The Chamber of Commerce organized a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Broadway location, where Chamber members and local officials tested out the bikes. Mayor Phil Brock was among those who took the bikes for a spin.

On March 14th, Oasis Restaurant on 1413 5th St., owned by Mickey Barnes and Brenda Garcia, held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their vast space and receive a $10,000 donation from Los Angeles Football Club and Pepsi through the Pepsi Dig In initiative to support black-owned businesses.
