Six athletes from Alabama Swimming and Diving selected for College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team

The Alabama swimming and diving team had six members named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. These honorees include Bernardo Bondra de Almeida, Mackenzie Brandt, Tim Korstanje, Jake Marcum, Diana Petkova, and Kailyn Winter.

All six honorees have a GPA of 3.62 or above, with Brandt holding a perfect 4.0 in communicative disorders. Petkova and Marcum received the honor for the second consecutive year after being named to the all-district team in 2023. Winter finished the season as a two-time Second Team All-America honoree, earning the honor as a member of both the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Petkova also competed with the 200 freestyle relay team at the NCAA Championships, securing All-America honors in the event. On the men’s side, Korstanje helped pace the 400 freestyle relay team to Second Team All-America honors at the national meet. Marcum earned a spot in both the 100 and 200 backstroke at the NCAA Championships and posted a ninth-place finish in the 200 backstroke at the Southeastern Conference Championships.
