Albemarle Business Center Advances to Second Round of Million-Dollar Grant Process – The Stanly News & Press

In recent news, the Albemarle Business Center has been selected for a million-dollar grant program. This announcement was made by director Candice Lowder at a meeting of the Stanly County Economic Development Commission. The grant program, established by the North Carolina General Assembly and run by the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), will provide $10 million for the next fiscal year. The SelectSites Readiness Program aims to identify up to 15 sites, with specific criteria regarding size.

The Albemarle Business Center, located in the southern part of the city, is 282 acres and was chosen alongside the Badin Business Park and the Bradley Industrial Site in Norwood. Lindsey Almond, director of the Albemarle Economic Development Commission, expressed excitement about the center’s selection, emphasizing the benefits that come with being part of the grant program. The business center had several documents in place that helped it stand out during the selection process. A site visit was conducted at the Albemarle Business Center in February by a potential company.
