Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, head of the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement, announced at a rally that he met with independent deputy Ishkhan Zakaryan, who left the “I have honor” faction in 2021. According to the Archbishop, Zakaryan did not refuse to join the process of expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister. He stated that the opposition factions have made progress but two crucial issues still need to be resolved: support for the prime minister’s candidate and finding missing 18 deputies.
To present a draft resolution of no confidence in the Prime Minister to parliament, at least 36 MPs’ signatures are needed. The opposition factions “Armenia” and “I have honor” together have 35 deputies, meaning one more signature is required to submit the project to parliament. The impeachment process is being discussed, with CP members ruling out any participation.
