New Executive Director Appointed at St. Paul Life Science Incubator in the Twin Cities

Brad Larmie has been appointed as the executive director of University Enterprise Labs, a life science incubator nonprofit located in St. Paul. The announcement was made on April 2, 2024. In his new role, Larmie will be responsible for overseeing operations, investment strategy, programs, and partnerships for the 150,000-square-foot facility.

Barbara Nelsen, Chair of the UEL Board, expressed her excitement about Brad Larmie leading University Enterprise Labs into its next phase. She highlighted the organization’s ambitious goals to foster Minnesota’s next generation of life sciences companies and support economic growth in the Twin Cities.

University Enterprise Labs, located at 1000 Westgate Drive in St. Paul, has over 35 wet, dry, and clinical labs for scientific research and development. Since its establishment in 2005, University Enterprise Labs has supported more than 175 startup companies and currently hosts 65 tenant companies working on a variety of projects, including medical devices, diagnostic tools, robotics, and atmospheric carbon capture.

Larmie brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Children’s Minnesota, ChRi Laboratories, and Novartis. With a degree in biological sciences, he is excited to take University Enterprise Labs to the next level and contribute to Minnesota’s thriving life sciences ecosystem. His appointment signifies a new chapter for University Enterprise Labs as it continues to play a vital role in advancing innovation in the life sciences industry.
