Arizona Claims No. 1 Seed in Men’s Tournament

Arizona has been named as a projected No. 1 seed in the latest bracketology update after completing a weekend road sweep against Colorado and turning around from an overtime win at Utah. This victory cooled Tennessee’s hot streak, resulting in the Volunteers’ short-lived stint as a top-seeded team on the line. The other three regional header teams, Connecticut, Purdue, and Houston, have retained their positions. Clemson and Virginia are on the rise, while Wisconsin and Kentucky are heading in the opposite direction. A six-bid Mountain West Conference is still a possibility.

Mississippi and Utah are two of the moving teams within the projected “last four in” slots, with Nebraska and Nevada being the other two. Gonzaga, Cincinnati, Villanova, and Wake Forest are among those listed as “first four out.” The “next four out” clubs include Colorado, Seton Hall, St. John’s, and Providence. American college basketball features multiple “multi-bid leagues,” including Big 12, SEC, Big Ten, Mountain West, ACC, Big East, Atlantic 10
