On Sunday morning, a fire broke out in the building that housed the Butler County Health Department and EMA office in Greenville, Alabama. The blaze was discovered at around 3:30 a.m. on Airport Road and quickly spread, engulfing the entire structure in flames. Despite the efforts of firefighters to put out the fire, the building was deemed a total loss.
Fortunately, no one was inside the building at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown, with authorities ruling out arson as a potential cause.
In response to the fire, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) staff is currently working to secure a temporary space to continue providing health services to the residents of Butler County. Residents are encouraged to reach out to the Crenshaw County Health Department or nearby locations for health services until a permanent location can be found.
