As a journalist, I would like to clarify that the Cincinnati Health Department has not made any decisions regarding the closure of the Bobbie Sterne Health Center. In response to concerns raised in a recent article by Betsy Kim, the health department is currently reviewing recommendations from a consultant who was hired in 2023 to study all health department facilities and determine cost-effective ways to provide quality care to patients. While the Bobbie Sterne Health Center has provided excellent service to many patients, there have been concerns raised about long wait times and physical limitations at some of our health centers.
To address these challenges and improve our ability to serve our community, we are exploring different options for improvement. We will engage with the community and those who may be impacted by any changes as we continue to review and plan for the future. We are committed to transparency and will communicate openly about any decisions that are made. Our mission at the Cincinnati Health Department is to improve the health and wellness of our citizens and ensure access to public health services. We are dedicated to working towards this mission and serving our community effectively. Grant Mussman, as commissioner of the Cincinnati Health Department, is committed to ensuring that we remain true to our mission and serve our community effectively.
