In Maksimir, Croatia, 20,000 fans gathered to witness the last match of their national football team against Armenia in the qualifiers for Euro 2024. Amidst the excitement and passion, one fan stood out – Rafael Beserra, a Brazilian who is a huge fan of the ‘fire’.
Beserra was introduced to the public at the end of the League of Nations in Rotterdam, where he fulfilled his lifelong dream and met his idol Luka Modrić (38). Not long after the end of the League of Nations, Beserra received an invitation from the Croatian Tourist Board, so he visited Croatia as a guest of honor. And now he has moved to Zagreb where he studies Croatian and lives his dream.
“Zagreb is a wonderful city,” said Beserra. “I’m watching the national team in Croatia for the first time, and I’m very happy. I’ve never been to Maksimir.”
During an interview with us at Maksimir, Beserra showcased his skills in speaking Croatian and gave us his prediction for the match against Armenia. He predicted a convincing victory for ‘the fire’, with scorers including Modrić, Ivanušec and Majer. And most impressively, he had already bought tickets for Euro 2024 in Germany!
