Fire Destroys Butler County Health Department Building, Renders it a Total Loss

Greenville, Alabama was hit with a devastating fire early Sunday morning, destroying the Butler County Health Department building. The fire was declared a general alarm after a 911 call was made at approximately 3:30 a.m., leading to firefighters arriving on the scene.

Sheriff Danny Bond confirmed that the cause of the fire is still being investigated by local authorities in conjunction with the state Fire Marshal’s office. While there were no injuries reported, health department officials have confirmed that no one was in the building during the fire.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, but it does not appear to be intentional at this time. Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn stated that they are working diligently to determine what caused the blaze and how it started.
