The Municipality of Dhofar has announced its plans for the upcoming Dhofar Fall 2024 activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman. Last year, Dhofar Fall 2023 saw an increase in visitors to 962 thousand compared to 813 thousand in 2022. This year, they expect the number of visitors to exceed one million.
Mayor of Dhofar, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, shared during a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai that this year’s activities will commence early at existing and new locations for the fall season, starting on June 21 and concluding on September 20. The extended three-month period aims to attract a larger number of tourists.
As part of the activities at the Arabian Travel Market, the launch of the “Atin Square” website was announced, showcasing various events including Omani and Arab artistic concerts at the Al Murooj Theater. The games area in Atin Square will feature a sports challenge field. Additionally, the “Return of the Past” activities in the Al-Saada area will simulate local environments in the Dhofar Governorate, with new additions from other governorates of Oman. Finally, the first “Dhofar International Theater Festival” will be organized to promote participation from authorities in Oman.
