Daniel Wiffen Competes in the LCM 800 Free

The third day of the 2024 World Championships in Doha will feature a lighter prelims session with only four individual events. The events for the day include the men’s 50 breast, women’s 200 free, men’s 200 fly, and men’s 800 free.

Nic Fink, who secured gold in the 100 breast event, will be back in action for the 50 breaststroke event. Fink will be vying to reclaim his title from 2022 after finishing 2nd in this event last summer. World Record holder Adam Peaty, who finished 3rd in the 100 breast event, comes into this event with the second-fastest season best behind Nicolo Martinenghi.

The women’s favorite for the 200 freestyle event is Siobhan Haughey with a season-best time of 1:54.08. However, Haughey’s biggest competition may come from last year’s podium finishers who are missing in this year’s event.
