Mattel has just announced its Comic-Con exclusive news for the year, and collectors of action figures are eagerly anticipating the latest releases. This year, there are two highly anticipated figures that are sure to be a hit among fans of the Jurassic movie franchise and Masters of the Universe.
First up is a Jurassic World figure set featuring Jimmy Buffett. The figure stands inside a giant margarita glass with two margarita accessories and attacking dinos on flight stands. The box is even shaped like a large blender, paying tribute to the iconic scene in the movie. This parrothead procurement will cost collectors $30 and is a must-have for Jurassic fans.
On the Masters of the Universe side, a Two-Bad combo set is being offered, featuring individual figures of Tuvar and Baddrah, the component creatures merged into one being. Fans have long requested these characters in the Classics line, and now they are finally coming in the Filmation cartoon collection Origins style. While these characters didn’t exist in the original Filmation cartoons, the mix-and-match component of the Origins figure body allows collectors to separate Tuvar and Baddrah and place their pieces on an extra combined torso.
Tuvar and Baddrah come with an ancient Mirror of Avathar, an episode from the Filmation series in which Two-Bad made a passive appearance. The set also includes a double-sided mini-comic and is priced at $50. Limited quantities of both sets will be available at MattelCreations.com after Comic-Con.
