Hatton and Smith selected for College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team

The 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team has named Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith to their prestigious team. This recognition honors the top student-athletes in the nation for their outstanding performances both on and off the court.

Langdon Hatton, a junior data science major, had an impressive season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He also had five double-doubles during the season, including a standout performance with 27 points and 12 rebounds in a game against Kennesaw State. This is Langdon’s second postseason academic honor, as he was previously named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

Billy Smith, a sophomore psychology major, also had a successful season with averages of 5.8 points and a 34.6 percent shooting percentage from three-point range. In his first season since transferring from Miami (OH), he scored a season-high of 17 points in a game against Berea. To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and either appear in at least 90 percent of the team’s games or start in at least 66 percent of the games.

The recognition of Hatton and Smith reflects their dedication to excellence both on and off the court, making them excellent examples for other student athletes to follow.
