During the recent World Championships held in Ostrava, Blackhawks defensemen Seth Jones and Alex Vlasic teamed up to represent the United States. Jones, who served as an alternate captain for the Americans, played in all seven games and finished second on the U.S. roster with an average ice time of 21:09 per game. He also contributed five assists, tying for the most among defensemen. Vlasic, in his first appearance at the World Championships, played 14:11 of ice time per game and added two assists.
The U.S. team finished with a strong record of 5-1-0-1, securing a second-place finish in Group B. Petr Mrazek, representing Czechia as the host nation, played two games in the preliminary round. He recorded a shutout victory in a 4-0 win over Austria on May 17 and also contributed to a 6-3 win over Norway on May 11. Czechia finished third in Group A.
Swiss forward Philipp Kurashev represented Switzerland and played in all seven games during the tournament. He posted two assists and an average ice time of 13:34 per game. The Swiss team finished second in Group A during the preliminary round.
