Sheboygan’s Young Entrepreneur’s Candy Business Gaining Recognition

11-year-old Truman McNitt is an entrepreneur with a passion for candy. His journey began when his mother bought a cotton candy maker as a fun activity, sparking an idea to start selling the sweet treat. Today, McNitt’s business, Sugar Twist Trinkets, has become statewide famous and he is one of the youngest finalists in a Junior Achievement Young Entrepreneur Competition.

Despite his young age, McNitt takes his business seriously and understands the responsibility that comes with being an 11-year-old business owner. His mother, Caitlin Brotz-McNitt, plays a supportive role in her son’s venture, providing guidance and encouragement as well as retail space in her store Olivü in downtown Sheboygan.

In addition to cotton candy, McNitt also sells toy slime and freeze-dried candy. He enjoys experimenting with different flavors and creating new products that customers will love. McNitt even live-spins cotton candy at events to make sure customers get a taste of his delicious treats.

Truman McNitt is not only passionate about making sweets but also about having fun while running his business. He loves sampling new products and trying out different flavors to create unique sweet treats that customers will love. Alongside selling his products at his mother’s store, he also has an online presence where customers can purchase his sweet treats from anywhere in the state.
