Downers Grove Community High School District 99 has recently welcomed two new hires to its team. Robert Godinez has been appointed as the new dean of Downers Grove South High School, bringing with him almost a decade of experience working in various roles within Chicago Public Schools. He previously served as a resident principal at Carver Military Academy High School and an assistant principal at Peace & Education Coalition Alternative High School and Farragut Academy. In a statement, Godinez expressed his commitment to being an effective and inspirational leader through empathy, equity, collaboration, and continuous skill development.
On the other hand, Philip Howard joins the district as the new chief technology officer, bringing nearly 25 years of experience to the role. Howard most recently served as the executive director of technology at Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95 and has also spent close to a decade at Elgin Community College. Dr. Travis McGuire, District 99’s assistant superintendent for learning resources, praised Howard’s expertise in using technology for both teaching and operational efficiency, highlighting the positive impact he will have on the district’s current and future technological plans.
