Porečanka makes fresh attempt at eviction, police faced tear gas and multiple arrests made

Recently, in the center of Pula, on Vrtlarska street, at least five individuals were arrested during an eviction attempt from business premises. The situation quickly escalated when someone drove a large number of cars, blocking access and leading to a confrontation between the police and those present. In response, the police deployed tear gas and punctured the tires of towing service vehicles.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time an eviction attempt has taken place in this location. In November of last year, a similar situation occurred but was ultimately unsuccessful. Despite this setback, the ongoing conflict and resistance from those being evicted continue to result in confrontations and arrests.

The scene in front of the “Porečanka” building remains tense as the authorities work to carry out the eviction while facing opposition from those involved. It is unclear what will happen next or how long it will take for things to calm down.
