Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI and recently ousted CEO, announced on Monday that he will be joining Microsoft. In a post on the X platform, Microsoft owner Satya Nadella wrote that Altman and Greg Brockman, co-founders of OpenAI, will lead a new AI research team at Microsoft. This move follows Altman’s recent departure from OpenAI.

Altman responded on the X social network, stating that his mission continues with Microsoft. The company has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI and has integrated the technology into its own products, such as the Bing search engine. OpenAI is a startup that developed ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence tool.

The first version of ChatGPT was launched on November 30, 2022, marking a significant development in the field of artificial intelligence. However, Altman’s dismissal from OpenAI’s board of directors took place on Friday due to his lack of consistency in communication and loss of confidence in his ability to manage the company. Following Altman’s departure, several other leading figures at OpenAI also announced their resignations.
