Commanders ink deal with linebacker Mykal Walker

The Commanders have recently welcomed back a familiar face to their lineup, as they announced the signing of linebacker Mykal Walker. Walker, who was previously a fourth-round pick by the Falcons in 2020 under head coach Dan Quinn, brings valuable experience and skills to the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Over his first three seasons with Atlanta, Walker appeared in 49 games with 20 starts before being waived by the Falcons last August. However, he quickly found a new home with the Steelers midway through the 2023 season, where he played in eight games with five starts and recorded 33 total tackles with two for loss. Additionally, Walker showcased his versatility by recording two passes defensed and an interception during his time with Pittsburgh.

The Commanders are excited to have Walker on board as he brings a wealth of experience and skills to their lineup. His familiarity with Coach Quinn should also help him acclimate quickly to the team and make a valuable contribution to their defense this upcoming season.
