Ferrari and SK On collaborate to enhance cell technology

Ferrari has announced a partnership with SK On, an electric vehicle battery maker affiliated with SK Group. The memorandum of understanding was signed at SK’s headquarters building in Seoul on Tuesday, with SK On CEO Lee Seok-hee and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna present at the event.

The collaboration between the two companies aims to drive innovation in battery cell technology by leveraging their respective expertise. SK On has been an exclusive battery supplier to Ferrari since 2019, providing battery cells for its plug-in hybrid electric vehicles such as the SF90 Stradale, SF90 Spider, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS. The partnership is expected to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation in electric vehicle technology.

SK On CEO Lee expressed excitement about joining Ferrari’s electrification journey and highlighted the importance of shared ideas driving shared progress when companies and suppliers work together.
