Two Demos and the Final Trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Released Ahead of Launch

Square Enix has made the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo available on PS5, giving players the chance to experience the opening chapter of one of the most eagerly awaited games of 2024. The demo will be split into two parts, with the second section set to launch on February 21st, offering a sneak peek of the vast game world before the official release date on February 29th, exclusively on Sony console. This news was announced during a Sony Interactive Entertainment State of Play dedicated to the game.

During the State of Play, in addition to the demo, the final trailer for the game was also presented, providing an overview of the plot and characters, including the group’s mission to chase Sephiroth and save the planet. The trailer also showcases new locations, minigames and returns familiar characters. A new battle system has been introduced that combines real-time action with strategic controls.

The “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” demo includes an extensive flashback section that allows players to revisit key events leading up to main storyline’s start. Later on February 21st, it will update with a new section titled “Dawn of a New Era in Junon,” offering additional exploration and combat opportunities. It is important to note that progress made in this section will not be transferable to full game version while steps present in first demo can be skipped in full game version. Completing the demo will reward players with bonuses that can be used throughout full game version including moogle lucky charm and adventure items set.

The presentation offered an insightful look into various aspects of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s features such as traversal methods around game world, new mini-games and how character interactions influence story progression. Additional information about protagonists’ backstories and new mechanics like skill trees were also revealed alongside iconic soundtrack from original series. As a follow-up to positively received Final Fantasy VII Remake launched in 2020 by Square Enix aims to expand upon existing narrative while taking players on yet another adventure through planet Earth’s crumbling ecosystems.
