New cancer center opens in West Central Indiana by Franciscan Health

The Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette is now open and ready to serve patients in Tippecanoe County. As the largest comprehensive cancer center in the area, the center offers screenings, diagnostics, and treatments in one centralized location. Terry Wilson, the president and CEO of Franciscan Health Western Indiana, highlights the importance of this new building and updated technology in providing the best possible care for cancer patients in the community.

With a $43 million investment, the three-story, 68,000 square foot facility aims to provide outstanding care and exceptional service to patients and their families. Maria Vought, director of the oncology service line at the center, emphasizes that reduced travel time for patients is crucial as it allows for stronger connections with family members who want to be involved in the patient’s care.

In addition to medical services, the center offers wrap-around support including financial aid, transportation assistance, and case management. Looking ahead, Wilson expresses interest in collaborating with Purdue University to conduct clinical trials that may lead to improved treatment options for patients. Overall, Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing cancer in the community.
