From Loiret to Leading 650 Employees: The Rise of Didier Burban, Palette King

As I reflect on my journey, Didier Burban, I can’t help but be proud of how far I’ve come. At the young age of 22, I started my own venture collecting and reselling used wooden pallets. Today, my company is one of the top five players in the market and likely the leading independent one.

Thirty-five years later, I am still enthusiastic about leading my company into the future. Despite facing many challenges and experiencing a slowdown in the market this year, with turnover projected to drop by 10%, we remain optimistic about the future. In fact, I am considering acquiring new companies to expand our business even further.

I attribute our success to our strong vision and determination. The pallet market is closely linked to the economy and can fluctuate accordingly, but we have always been able to weather those storms with resilience. Our growth has been something that I could never have imagined when I opened my first agency in 1989 in Fleury-les-Aubrais, Loiret. Today, we have 30 sites and 650 employees across France, with 180 of them located in Loiret.

As we look forward to the future, I am determined to steer our course for many years to come. With time flying by so quickly, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day tasks of running a business. But for me, the journey is far from over. With a sense of determination and a clear vision for what we want to achieve, we will continue to grow and evolve our business for years to come.
