Bernie Clarke, a dedicated volunteer at the Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantry, was busy manning the stuffing station of the Thanksgiving bag assembly line on Monday morning. The pantry, located at St. Agnes Church, saw its volunteers dedicating over an hour to pack bags for distribution. Linda Young, the organizer of the event, estimated that they would distribute around 275 bags of food throughout the day.
The community’s support and commitment to helping those less fortunate were evident in the team’s tireless efforts. The bags of food packed by the volunteers would go on to make a significant difference in many families’ lives during the holiday season.
The mission of providing food security to the community has been central to the work of the Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantry. Volunteers like Bernie Clarke and Linda Young have played a crucial role in this endeavor, demonstrating care and generosity that has positively impacted many families in the Lake Placid area.
