In a speech at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Governor Dunleavy emphasized the importance of increasing energy resources in Alaska. Dunleavy pointed out that technology has advanced at an incredible rate in recent years and predicted that the next five years will bring even more rapid advancements. The increasing demand for energy is largely driven by the rapid growth of technology, with server farms and supercomputers requiring large amounts of power. To prepare for this future, Dunleavy emphasized the importance of developing Alaska’s resources and economy to reduce dependence on oil. He also mentioned the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing labor shortages in the near future. By staying informed and adapting to the changing energy landscape, Alaska can position itself to meet the energy demands of the future.
