Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki Awarded Wild Cards for the 2024 BNP Paribas Open, Both Former World No. 1s

Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams, two former world number ones and Grand Slam champions, have been awarded wild cards into the 2024 BNP Paribas Open, which will take place at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California from March 3 to 17.

Venus Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam singles champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist, will make her return to the desert for the first time since 2019, when she reached the quarterfinals. With an illustrious career that includes 49 WTA titles and four Olympic gold medals (Singles – 2000; Doubles – 2000, 2008, 2012), Williams has spent a total of 19 weeks as the world number one ranked singles player and eight weeks as the world number one ranked doubles player.

Caroline Wozniacki, the winner of the 2018 Australian Open and the 2011 BNP Paribas Open, will also be returning to Tennis Paradise for the first time since the 2019 tournament after a three-year hiatus following the birth of her two children. In addition to her title runs in Australia and Indian Wells, Wozniacki also reached the final on two occasions (2010 and 2013). She has spent a total of 71 weeks as the world number one ranked player during her career.

The remaining wild card recipients for both singles and doubles draws as well as qualifying draws will be announced in upcoming weeks.
