Millions lost as popular home technology company declares bankruptcy

In 2023, HMI Anlagenbau GmbH faced financial difficulties and initiated a restructuring procedure without self-administration. However, the process was terminated after a restructuring plan was accepted. Due to late payments by clients for large construction projects and a lack of orders, the company has now applied for the opening of bankruptcy proceedings. The company, which specializes in gas, plumbing, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning technology, as well as operating an engineering office for building services, has incurred debts amounting to approximately 10.6 million euros.

According to Creditreform, bankruptcy proceedings have been applied for and opened for HMI Anlagenbau GmbH (FN 460164m), affecting 39 employees. The dire financial situation of the company has led to the decision not to continue its operations especially since no new orders are expected in the near future. The company has already agreed to cease its operations.
