Yovaldi Lamoutt from the Richmond City Health Department

At the Southwood Resource Center in Richmond, I have been working as a public health professional. Before this role, I worked as a Medicaid Eligibility Worker at Cover Virginia. I strongly believe that our community needs more mental health, medical, and dental services to improve its overall well-being. When I need to unwind and recharge, I head to the gym for some exercise.

One of my favorite places to take out-of-town visitors is the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. It’s a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city and a great way to showcase what Richmond has to offer. If I had to pick one month as my favorite in Richmond, it would be either April or October – both are perfect times of year for outdoor activities and exploring the city’s many offerings.

When it comes to music, my go-to song is “Everybody” by Nicki Minaj – it’s a fun and upbeat track that always puts me in a good mood. And when it comes to food, nothing beats a classic club sandwich – it’s versatile and satisfying, making it the perfect choice for any occasion.
