Juventus are currently seeking alternatives to Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori as negotiations with Bologna have hit a stalemate. Despite the efforts of new coach Thiago Motta to bring his former player from Bologna to Turin, the asking price for Calafiori remains too high for Juventus.
As a result, Motta has decided to explore other options and may be shifting his focus towards Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior. Kiwior was coached by Motta during his time at Spezia and could be a surprise addition to the Juventus squad under Motta’s management.
Calafiori, who is currently focusing on Italy’s upcoming match against Croatia in the Euro 2024, has put any decision about his future on hold until after the tournament. He played a standout role for Bologna last season, helping them qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
While talks with Bologna have yet to progress, Juventus remains hopeful that they will be able to secure Calafiori’s services in the near future. However, if negotiations continue to stall, Motta may need to consider alternative options such as Kiwior.
