During a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Seoul on July 2, Kim Jin Pyo, President of the Korea Global Innovation Research Association, announced plans for various projects and cooperation with Vietnam in the near future. The association expressed its commitment to supporting the expansion of Hue Central Hospital and the construction of a medical human resource training center in the Central region.
Kim Jin Pyo also commended Vietnam’s economic growth, which is projected to reach 6% by 2024, the highest in the region. He emphasized the country’s strong economic development and praised the Government’s effective direction and management. During his visit to Vietnam in January 2023, Kim Jin Pyo attended the inauguration of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology headquarters.
The two sides will collaborate on implementing artificial intelligence in education and strengthening global innovation activities. In addition to overseeing the expansion of Hue Central Hospital as part of a program to support second-level hospitals, Korea will establish a medical human resources training center in the Central region. This initiative aims to provide training in Korean language and vocational skills to Vietnamese youth, particularly in nursing, to facilitate their employment in both countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed gratitude for Kim Jin Pyo’s continuous support and contributions to the bilateral relationship, especially in healthcare and public health sectors. The Prime Minister assigned relevant ministries and agencies to facilitate the implementation of the projects discussed during the meeting. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, accompanied by his wife, visited South Korea from June 30 to July 3 at the invitation of South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his wife.
