The Purple emerged victorious in the LSU Baseball Fall World Series, winning Game 2 against the Gold on Sunday at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. Right-handers Christian Little and Aiden Moffett combined for 10 strikeouts in five innings for the Purple, securing a 3-2 win. This victory secured the Purple-Gold Series for the Purple, who also won Game 1 on Friday night with a score of 2-1.

The reigning National Champion, LSU, will open the 2024 season on Friday, February 16 against VMI in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. Justin Loer, a junior left-hander transfer from Xavier (Ohio), led the Gold’s pitching effort by recording seven strikeouts in 2.1 relief innings. Both teams put up a great fight, but ultimately, it was the Purple that emerged victorious in the series.
