Metsä Group Announces 100 Million Euro Investment Plan for Tissue Paper Factory in Mänttä

Metsä Group is investing heavily in the modernization of its tissue paper mill in Mänttä, Finland. The company aims to extend the life cycle of the mill and achieve world-class efficiency and environmental performance through these investments. The size of the planned investment program is approximately EUR 100 million and will be implemented over the next five years.

The first investment of the program is focused on a new hand towel line that will produce virgin fiber-based hand towel papers specifically for the Finnish market. Preparations for this investment are already underway, and it is expected to be operational by 2025. Further investments will be announced as the plans progress.

Joonas Kukkonen, Vice President, Supply Chain, Forest Tissue Finland and the Baltics, stated, “Local tissue manufacturing not only creates local jobs but also contributes to society’s sustainability. This investment program at our Mänttä factory is a natural extension of our ongoing Future Factory investment in Mariestad, Sweden, as well as our planned tissue factory investment in Great Britain.”

Metsä Tissue is a subsidiary of Metsä Group while Forest Board is also listed under Metsä Group’s umbrella.
