LA Rams to finalize deal with ex-Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White

The Los Angeles Rams have signed former All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White to a one-year deal worth $8.5 million, with the potential to reach $10 million, according to ESPN. This move is aimed at strengthening the Rams’ secondary, which struggled last season. White, who played for the Buffalo Bills for seven seasons before being released earlier this month, brings a solid resume as a two-time Pro Bowl player and 2019 AP All-Pro.

Despite facing injury setbacks in recent seasons, playing in just 10 combined games over the past two years due to a torn knee ligament and Achilles tendon, the Rams have shown confidence in White by signing him along with safety Kamren Curl from Washington and re-signing Darious Williams. The Rams have yet to make any significant defensive line signings following the retirement of Aaron Donald.

White, a first-round pick out of LSU in 2017, has been a consistent starter for the Bills throughout his career, tallying 18 interceptions and five fumble recoveries in 82 games played. The Rams are hoping that White can help strengthen their defense and make a difference on the field as they continue to build on their success from last season where they secured a playoff berth with a 10-7 record. Young cornerbacks Derion Kendrick and Cobie Durant are expected to provide depth behind White and Williams as the Rams continue to shape their defense under new defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
