Richard J. Simoncic appointed as Microchip Technology’s new COO

Richard J. Simoncic has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer at Microchip Technology Incorporated, effective April 1, 2024. This strategic decision was made in preparation for the retirement of Senior Vice President Stephen V. Drehobl on June 7, 2024. With a long history at the company, Simoncic has steadily risen through the ranks since joining in 1990 and most recently serving as Executive Vice President. He will now be working closely with President and CEO Ganesh Moorthy to ensure continuity and experience in Microchip Technology’s leadership.
