A highly anticipated main event clash has been confirmed for ONE’s first U.S. primetime show of 2024. “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 will defend his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title against Elias “The Sniper” Mahmoudi at ONE Fight Night 18: Superlek vs. Mahmoudi on Prime Video. The event will take place on January 12 and air live from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Superlek has had a standout year, with an overall promotional record of 12-1. He has put together a 10-fight winning streak, claiming and then defending the World Title, while also securing his spot as the #1 contender in the flyweight Muay Thai rankings. Despite a close loss to the current ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon in a 2023 Fight of the Year candidate this past September, Superlek is eager to return to defend his kickboxing throne.
However, he’ll face a formidable challenge from Mahmoudi, who came close to winning the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title back in 2019. Mahmoudi has consistently impressed in his fights against top flyweights and demonstrated that he was ready for another shot with a dominant first-round stoppage of Edgar Tabares this past August.
This matchup promises to be an exciting spectacle, pitting Superlek’s exceptional technique and recent knockout form against Mahmoudi’s relentless pressure and unconventional arsenal of moves.
