Two men from the Los Angeles area apprehended following a robbery at an El Paseo establishment

Two men from the Los Angeles area were arrested by authorities following a theft at a business in Palm Desert. The incident occurred on a Monday at around 5:30 p.m., with two men entering the business, hiding merchandise on themselves and leaving without paying. They then fled in a white, newer-model Lexus.

The investigation was taken over by the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Palm Desert Business District Team (BDT). The suspects were located at a shopping center in La Quinta at around 8:35 p.m. They attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief pursuit.

The stolen items, along with suspected stolen wine bottles and medication, were recovered by deputies from inside the suspects’ vehicle. Both men were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for grand theft and felony evading.
