The municipality of Petah Tikva has been given the green light to use a new noise pollution monitoring system, which will enable municipal inspectors to enforce laws against excessive noise in the city. This system will be particularly useful in enforcing against vehicle drivers who violate noise regulations.

Once the decree is published in the Reshumot bulletin, inspectors can use readings from the Noize system, which is installed at major city intersections, to issue fines for violations such as excessive use of the horn or driving without a muffler. Fines for these violations can be up to 730 shekels, depending on the type of offense.

This decree not only targets drivers but also aims to combat noise pollution in homes and businesses. By utilizing this new system, Petah Tikva hopes to control and reduce noise levels throughout the city.
