Qatar earmarks $20 million for Lebanese soldiers’ salaries

In recent news, Qatari authorities have announced that they have transferred $20 million to Lebanon in order to provide financial assistance to the Lebanese army personnel. This decision follows a previous tranche of $60 million that was approved in 2022. The purpose of this fund is to support the soldiers who are struggling to make ends meet on their current salaries.

The soldiers in Lebanon will receive $100 per month as part of this financial support from Doha. The Qatari government sees the Lebanese armed forces as a stabilizing force in the country, despite criticism from the international community about the actions of the terrorist group Hezbollah.

It is important to note that while the Lebanese army is seen as a positive influence, there are concerns about Hezbollah’s activities being overlooked by the international community. Despite these challenges, funding from Qatar will help support the soldiers who work to maintain stability in Lebanon.
