Public Health is often overlooked in the field of medicine and healthcare, but it becomes essential during times of crisis such as the Covid pandemic. The importance of preventative measures and resources to protect the health of all citizens was emphasized during a recent meeting called “Take care of your health”. Elena Andradas, general director of Public Health for the Community of Madrid, highlighted the need for investing in prevention programs and maintaining updated information systems. She also stressed the importance of training at all levels, particularly for health professionals.

Collaboration between different entities and private companies is crucial in Public Health. Juan Carlos Gil, general director of Moderna for Spain and Portugal, emphasized the importance of investment in production and distribution of vaccines to ensure access for patients in Europe. As part of these efforts, Moderna has made significant investments in Spain and plans to continue doing so. Additionally, collaboration with scientific societies and universities is essential for the advancement of Public Health initiatives.

The acceptance of vaccines by the population is critical for prevention programs to be successful.
