WhatsApp introduces new feature allowing users to customize photo backgrounds and styles using generative AI

Meta has recently developed new tools based on generative AI, including the Meta AI chatbot and Expressive Media Universe (EMU), which creates images from text and allows users to create stickers for messaging applications. In response, WhatsApp is currently developing new features based on generative AI for photo editing. One standout feature is the ability to modify your background and replace it with another, as well as transform your style based on user descriptions.

These new features are expected to be brought to the WhatsApp platform soon, as indicated in the latest version for Android. The latest version of WhatsApp for Android includes a new button in the photo sending interface that offers options such as cropping, rotating the photo, adding stickers and text, using the drawing tool, and more. Along with options for sending photo quality and enlarging images, new features for background modification, style changes, and resizing images have been incorporated.

While these features are currently in development for Android, it remains to be seen if they will also be available for iOS devices in the future.
