Suspicious Package Leads to Evacuation of Business in Lower Macungie; Route 100 Now Open Again | Lehigh Valley Regional News

Reports of a suspicious package at Ryder Logistics warehouse on Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township caused a business to be evacuated in Lehigh County. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, prompting Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky to confirm the area was evacuated and part of Route 100 was temporarily closed. Although the road has since reopened, Congdon Hill Drive remains closed at Spring Creek Road.

Traffic was heavily affected in the area as a result of the incident, causing delays for commuters and businesses alike. Shortly after 2 p.m., the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to assist in the investigation, along with K9s and the state police explosives team. However, updates on this developing story are still ongoing as multiple businesses located near Ryder Logistics were evacuated as a precaution.

As such, reports can be followed on 69 News at 5 and 6 with Reporter Bo Koltnow for more information on this evolving situation in Lehigh County.
