Sanford Health receives recognition as top non-profit for veterans

Sanford Health has been recognized nationally for its ongoing dedication to veterans and their families. The organization has been named the top Government & Non-Profit employer by Military Friendly Brands in their annual list, highlighting organizations that prioritize providing opportunities for veterans and military spouses. The evaluation process included public and government data sources, as well as employer surveys.

Capt. Paul Weckman, head of military and veteran affairs at Sanford Health, expressed gratitude to veterans for their service and outlined the organization’s support programs for military and veteran employees. These programs include benefits continuation and differential pay during deployment. In a new initiative, Sanford Health partnered with the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program and the Military Spouses Employment Program to further support active-duty members and their spouses.

Veterans who apply for jobs at Sanford Health receive automatic screening interviews, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to hiring and supporting military and veteran employees. Additionally, military and veteran employees have the opportunity to pursue further education through a $5,000 scholarship program. This comprehensive approach to supporting veterans and active-duty service members exemplifies Sanford Health’s dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
