The world’s first Dragon Ball Z theme park is being constructed in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia recently announced plans to build the first-ever Dragon Ball Z theme park as part of their Qiddiya project in Riyadh. The 5.3 million square foot entertainment venue will feature seven different areas inspired by the original Japanese anime television series, along with over 30 themed rides, hotels, and restaurants. The park is set to have five “world first” rides, including a 230-foot-high roller coaster named Shenron after the series’ magical dragon.

Meanwhile, at the 2019 Gamescom gaming trade fair in Cologne, Germany, visitors had the opportunity to try out the latest version of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The popular game attracted a lot of attention from fans and gamers alike who were eager to experience the exciting new features.

Saudi Arabia has been investing heavily in video games and anime. Collaborations between Japan-based Toei Animation and MiSK, a foundation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, have resulted in new anime movies. The Saudi Public Investment Fund, a major shareholder in Nintendo, has also shown interest in these industries.

Qiddiya aims to become a major tourist destination with over 400 specific attractions including golf courses, theme parks, and hotels. With plans to host millions of visitors annually
