Johnson City’s Science Mill is hosting a unique event this summer, Shark Week, which will offer visitors an opportunity to learn more about these fascinating creatures. From July 20-21 and July 23-28 (closed on July 22), the museum will feature STEM-focused activities that are hands-on and interactive.
During this week, young scientists can gain knowledge about sharks, their impact on the ocean’s ecosystem, and potential career paths related to studying and protecting them. Highlights of the event include shark and squid dissections, a thrilling shark game show, special guest Matt “The Shark Guy” Marchant, sharks on shore, and color-changing squids.
The Science Mill is a museum in Johnson City that focuses on teaching families about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Since its inception in 2015, the museum has been dedicated to providing STEM programs and exhibits for people of all economic backgrounds and locations.
Visitors can visit the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday or from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
