Southampton manager Russell Martin has signed a new three-year contract with the club after leading them to a Premier League return through the play-offs in his first season. Alongside him, coaching staff Matt Gill, Dean Thornton, Colin Calderwood, Carl Martin, Rhys Owen, and Ben Parker have also extended their contracts until summer 2027.
In a statement, Martin expressed his gratitude to the club for their commitment and belief in the team’s efforts so far. He is excited to continue the journey with Southampton, as he believes they have all learned a lot and are eager for what the future holds. The decision to extend their contracts was an easy one for Martin and his coaching staff, as they are all looking forward to the upcoming season.
The team will begin their new campaign with a match against Newcastle United on 17 August. Southampton fans can look forward to seeing what Martin and his coaching staff can achieve with the team in the coming years as they continue to build on their recent successes.
