Mentally ill patient attacks three staff members at mental health facility in Buffalo

In north Buffalo, a stabbing occurred at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center campus on Wednesday around 9 a.m. in the Strozzi Building. According to officials from New York State’s Office of Mental Health, three staff members were injured by a patient during the incident. The Office of Mental Health is working closely with the Buffalo Police Department to investigate the matter and ensure the safety of their staff and clients.

Local news outlet WIVB-TV reported that the stabbing took place shortly after 9 a.m., with two men and a woman being transported to the hospital by ambulance. One of the staff members is believed to be seriously injured, while the suspect was taken into police custody. The suspect’s identity has not been released at this time.
