Famous ski and snowboard manufacturer files for bankruptcy

Antero GmbH, founded in 2009 and located in Fürnitz, Austria, is a debtor that intends to continue operations despite its current financial difficulties. The company aimed to build a new ski and snowboard production facility for premium-class products but has faced challenges due to the pandemic and its consequences. Its retail sales figures have fallen short, resulting in over-indebtedness.

The company originally had 15 employees but has reduced its workforce to three. Antero GmbH’s online platform offers individual snowboards, winter sports items, textiles, a community, entertainment features, and current information for fans of the board sports scene. The company also produces individual small series for special occasions.

In an effort to make the best possible use of its existing raw materials and clarify whether financial and organizational requirements can be met for a restructuring plan application, the debtor intends to continue operations. Antero GmbH belongs to Apricum GmbH and reported an accumulated loss of 854,000 euros in the 2022 financial year with negative equity of 489,000 euros. Around 600,000 euros in liabilities relate to profit participation rights.
